Tunisian families to get free solar panels

The National Trade Union Chamber has proposed a program called "Energy Citizenship" to provide one million Tunisian households, consuming less than 100 kWh per month, with free solar panels over five years, at a rate of 200,000 households annually. The program aims to reduce energy support costs by approximately two billion dinars during the same period, financed through the Energy Transition Fund and with the participation of banks to fund repayable projects. The initiative includes installing a solar panel and an inverter for each household to convert DC to AC power, allowing families to directly consume the generated electricity, while relying on the power grid when production is insufficient.
