Zelensky joins EU summit after Trump criticism
Articles and the body of the text confirm that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is participating in the European Union summit in Brussels to bolster support for Kiev, amid criticisms from Washington and threats from Trump regarding the war in Ukraine. Zelensky has received backing from EU leaders, while issues such as financial aid, domestic policies, migration, and defense capabilities are being discussed. Trump described Zelensky as difficult to negotiate with and considered him an obstacle to ending the war, pointing out that the conflict, which began in February 2022 following the Russian invasion, could soon come to an end, noting Ukraine's heavy reliance on U.S. support in information, intelligence, and satellite internet services like Starlink.
