Nathu La Pass resumes commerce

Natho Mountain Pass at the China-India border has resumed commercial activity after remaining closed since 2020. Situated at an elevation of 4,545 meters, it is one of the most important trade routes between China and South Asia. Before its closure, the pass recorded trade valued at over 73 million yuan (approximately $10.8 million) in 2019. Local authorities in the Shitssang region, which includes this pass, plan to open 12 border trade sites this year as part of efforts to expand the region's trade openness.
