Tom Barrack on US Iraq troop withdrawal

Iraq officially announced the end of the international coalition's mission against ISIS, bidding farewell to the last American forces in the country after 23 years of presence. The U.S. ambassador to Turkey and former Trump administration envoy, Tom Barrack, stated that the withdrawal was carried out through strategic coordination between the Iraqi government and the United States, aiming to unify the Iraqi armed forces under a single command and to strengthen Iraq's sovereignty. This announcement comes after President Trump reiterated that the withdrawal represents a victory for Iraq and the United States, and that ISIS has been completely defeated.
