Arab Music Festival 2026 Faces Star Withdrawals
The 2026 Arab Music Festival crisis has led to the withdrawal of several stars and the resignation of the Egyptian Opera House’s general manager before the launch of its 34th edition, scheduled from October 20 to 30. The crisis began after a press conference highlighted financial challenges, including a limited budget, which resulted in last-minute cancellations by prominent artists such as Mohamed Tharwat and Ali El Hagar, amid a decline in preparations. However, the festival’s cancellation has not yet been confirmed, but changes to the event schedule and participating artists are expected. This comes in the wake of Rida El Wakeel’s resignation, pointing to internal issues within the organization, though the event is still expected to proceed due to its cultural significance.
