A Fly Dubai aircraft successfully thwarted a terrorist attack attempt during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, when the co-pilot tried to assault the crew and passengers. The pilot, Samiat Machehar, displayed immense bravery by confronting the attacker and taking cover with the passengers, despite sustaining serious injuries, which prevented a much greater disaster. Many leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Netanyahu, praised his courage that saved hundreds of lives. An investigation is currently underway to determine the motives behind the attack.
