Al-Sisi and African leaders open Al-Alamein Business Forum

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and African leaders inaugurated the "Alamein Africa" Business Forum, in the presence of approximately 20 heads of state and government and 1,500 leaders of the economic community and investors. The purpose of the forum is to enhance African economic dialogue and develop tools for economic cooperation across the continent. The forum aims to support partnerships between governments and the private sector to achieve investments and sustainable development. It is also a response to the African Union's decision issued in February 2026 to hold the forum regularly every two years in cooperation with numerous African institutions. Participants emphasized the importance of boosting investments, developing operational tools, and achieving African economic integration, especially given the developmental challenges and obstacles faced by the continent, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and regional conflicts.
