Egypt: Interior Ministry addresses prison protests

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior confirms that all correction and rehabilitation centers are operating normally. It denies the claims alleging protests, hunger strikes, visitation bans, the use of tear gas, and suicide attempts among detainees, which have been circulated via pages affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. The ministry adds that these allegations are unfounded and stem from the group's desperate attempts to stir chaos and distort facts to gain illegal advantages. Legal measures have been taken against those spreading these claims.
