Baghdad Gains Narrow US Support for Iranian Flights

Reports indicate that the Iraqi government, led by Ali Al-Zaydi, has obtained a U.S. license permitting 40 daily flights to and from Najaf Airport for Iranian airlines, excluding Mahan Airlines. The purpose of this license is to facilitate the movement of visitors, patients, and humanitarian and religious cases between Iraq and Iran, while the ban on transferring large sums of money or exporting technology remains in effect. This step is the result of Iraqi efforts to ease sanctions and enhance communication, despite the ongoing restrictions on transferring funds and military equipment. Allied factions supporting Iran welcomed the decision after previously criticizing the government, reaffirming their support for disarming armed factions and controlling weapons within the state.
