India is now seeking to strengthen its role as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine in order to end the war between them, according to Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. He affirmed that India's stance on the conflict is clear and that it has been working towards this through dialogue and diplomacy for years, with increased engagement in recent months through discussions with both Russia and Ukraine, including meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. India is participating in discussions on maritime security, grain and energy exports, and ways to prevent attacks, with communication between the parties continuing.
