Farquhar Base Iran Plot Disrupted
The investigations concluded that Iran's plan was aimed at carrying out terrorist attacks near Fairford Air Base in the UK, which is used by American forces in Europe. British police arrested five individuals, including two British citizens and one Iranian, before releasing them on bail. American and British officials believe that an Iranian entity is behind the plot. The investigations revealed that no explosives were found, but a quantity of gasoline was seized in the detained vehicles. Additionally, Fairford Air Base, established in 1944, has a long military history and is used by NATO. It had previously been threatened by Iran before American bombers were withdrawn from it, suggesting a potential security tension linked to the investigations.
