Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport

On Monday, the Iran-backed Houthi group was targeted by several missile attacks on sites within Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid Airport in Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition announced that it conducted strikes against military targets in Hodeidah with the aim of thwarting imminent attacks on the waterways in the southern Red Sea. In response, the internationally recognized Yemeni government announced the launch of a broad military operation to counter the Houthis' advances, regaining control of the Zubab area overlooking the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The Houthis denied this, despite having taken control of a major port last month, which has increased pressure on international shipping security. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia experienced attacks on other airports, resulting in injuries and material damage, amid ongoing military escalation in the region.
