Al-Qaeda claims ballistic missile interception north of Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen highlighted the interception and destruction of a Scud missile launched by the Houthis toward northern Riyadh, according to an official statement. The coalition indicated that the missile was part of a launch attempt by the Houthis and that it tracked the launch platform in the skies over Sana'a to thwart the attack before it could occur. This comes amid escalating clashes between Yemeni forces supported by Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis, with the coalition also conducting a military operation at the Hodeidah port to protect maritime security in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
