Netanyahu allegedly falsified pre-October 7 warnings

An investigation by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu falsified documents related to warnings he received before the October 7, 2023 attack. He removed parts of the documents and altered their context to present a different narrative. A comparison between the original documents and the version he provided shows that Netanyahu claimed he had called for the assassination of Hamas leaders, while the original documents indicate that he called for calm and did not approve targeted killings, and that he did not respond to warnings about potential escalation. It also became clear that there were repeated warnings about the erosion of deterrence and the possibility of the conflict expanding. Meanwhile, there are demands in Israel to release the full security discussions related to the attack, while Netanyahu continues to refuse to establish an official investigation commission into the matter.
