Daqesh Cell Attacks Security in North Baghdad

The Iraqi security forces have imposed a curfew on the villages of Hawija city north of Baghdad following sudden attacks believed to be carried out by ISIS cells, which resulted in the killing and injury of security personnel. The militants used machine guns and sniper rifles, and thermal cameras were rendered inoperative during the assaults. Although experts have ruled out the possibility of ISIS establishing a permanent presence on the ground, the active cells still possess explosive devices and suicide belts, raising concerns about the recurrence of attacks and an increasing threat from ISIS in the region.
