US Plans Attacks on Tehran
The New York Times reported that the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has prepared a plan for a swift and intense attack on Iran before the midterm elections. The plan includes targeting energy facilities, missile and drone depots, as well as headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, over a three-day period. The Department of Defense is also considering sending additional air defense equipment and ammunition to its bases in the Middle East amid warnings of a potential escalation into renewed conflict with Iran. Meanwhile, the Iranian president reaffirmed Iran's commitment to negotiations, even as Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed continued support for Iran amid regional tensions.
