Russian airstrikes cause casualties in Ukraine

The article focused on the military escalation between Russia and Ukraine, where Russia launched airstrikes on Ukrainian cities resulting in civilian casualties and injuries, particularly in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. In response, Russia announced that it had intercepted and destroyed 560 Ukrainian drones overnight over its territory and the Crimean Peninsula, in addition to shooting down several in Moscow and other regions. Russia also targeted a cargo ship in the Black Sea and damaged infrastructure, while Ukrainian authorities confirmed ongoing fighting and increasing losses. On the diplomatic front, Russian President Putin informed U.S. President Trump that Ukrainian drone attacks have undermined the prospects of resuming trilateral negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. This all occurs amid the continuing war that Russia began in February 2022, with escalating airstrikes and diminishing chances of reaching a peaceful resolution soon.
