Israeli settlers stop Palestinian olive harvest
The olive harvesting season in Palestine has seen an escalation in attacks by settlers and the Israeli army. Occupation forces and settlers have prevented Palestinians from accessing their lands in the villages of Burqa, Kafr Nima, and Deir Abu Meshal south of Ramallah. Settler groups have forced farmers to leave their lands and issued threats, in addition to setting fire to homes in the village. Video footage shows armed settlers and journalists being subjected to sound grenades, tear gas, and rubber bullets during coverage of the harvest season. Meanwhile, occupation forces prevent Palestinians from reaching their olive groves or require prior coordination, raising fears of repeated assaults on farmers throughout the annual season.
