Why Trump's Nobel Bid Faces Criticism

The article covers former President Donald Trump's remarks and actions regarding his rivalry for the Nobel Peace Prize. He repeatedly declared that he deserved to win it, despite losing last year. He focused on criticizing Navi Pillay's award, describing it as a "stain," and promoted the illusion that he ended over six wars and saved lives—claims that undermine his credibility. Additionally, Trump clearly aimed to leverage the prize to amass personal glory, showcasing unverified achievements and controversial events such as the Venezuelan invasion and fueling tensions with Iran, even though most experts and data suggest he neither deserved it nor would be beneficial in this context. It appears that Trump views the prize as a tool to enhance his personal image, considering his failure to receive it as a "major insult" to him, and emphasizing that his pursuit of personal greatness surpasses legal or moral realities.
