Israel reacts to Palestinian election delay
The Palestinian Authority announced the cancellation of the legislative elections scheduled for November 28, 2026, and set a new date for the presidential and legislative elections on September 11, 2027. This decision was made based on a resolution by the Executive Committee and after consultations with Palestinian factions. Meanwhile, Israel has accused Palestinians of refusing to carry out the elections and of Israeli obstacles, while the Palestinians have affirmed that security and political conditions are what prevented holding the elections on the original date.
