Protein connects clock to fat burning
A study has found that a protein called "SLC25A34" plays a key role in linking the body's biological clock to cold exposure and diet, affecting the regulation of fat burning in brown fat. The results showed that levels of this protein increase significantly when exposed to cold and during fasting, which enhances fat burning and heat production. This suggests its potential as a target for obesity treatments and metabolic disorder therapies. Additionally, the absence of this protein led to a decrease in fat burning rates in mice, highlighting its importance in thermogenic metabolic processes.
