The article discusses the developments in the military clashes in the Hawarlan region south of Taiz, where fighting between government forces and the Houthi group is intensifying. The Houthis are advancing in areas around Tuba, posing a threat to supply routes and control over this strategic area. Historically and geographically, Hawarlan holds significant importance as a center for Yemeni elites and as one of the key connection points between northern and southern Yemen. The nature of the conflict there reflects the local and external political balances. The analysis confirms that weak military defenses and shifting political relations in the region have contributed to its deteriorating situation, as ongoing escalation threatens transportation, essential services, and increases the risk of displacement, amid continued clashes on multiple fronts between the two sides.
