Western Libya Protest Law: Right or Restriction

The article discusses the statements and actions of Libyan authorities regarding the right to protest, especially the teachers' strike and their demands for better salaries. It highlights the increasing social tension and the expansion of protests to other sectors such as health and oil. The report emphasizes that applying the protest law selectively and using sanctions could deepen the crisis, noting that the government has responded quickly to the salary payments of its affiliated employees, while ignoring the demands of civilian sectors. This approach adds to the economic and social challenges facing the country. The report underlines the need for negotiations with unions to meet demands in a way that balances financial stability with social needs, especially amid the deteriorating value of the currency and rising prices.
