Khodaar Advances to Shanghai Semis
Spanish tennis player Rafael Khudar advanced to the semi-finals of the Shanghai tournament after defeating Kaspar Rudd, achieving an unprecedented milestone by becoming the youngest player to reach the tournament's quarter-finals in its history. Despite losing the first two sets, he managed to turn the match around and win three sets, marking a significant achievement in a season during which his performance has improved notably. His world ranking before the season started was 168, and he has now risen to the 13th position. Khudar confirmed that he is still learning how to behave on the court and admitted that he made a mistake by using a foul word towards the ball boys during his matches, expressing regret and offering apologies. In the semi-finals, he will face either Daniil Medvedev or Tomic Puel in a contest for a spot in the final.
