New Trump spokesperson departs White House

A senior American official confirmed that the new White House spokeswoman, Katie Zakiaria, left her position less than a week after being appointed by President Trump. Zakiaria had sparked widespread controversy with her remarks about China, in which she stated that China lacks "real toilets," prompting reactions from the Chinese government and American media. She also faced criticism regarding her professional qualifications, admitting that she had failed the U.S. bar exam, despite claiming to work as a lawyer and having gained experience in international business law in China. Her appointment, professional credentials, and media appearances were subjects of debate, ultimately leading to her official departure from the position.
