Putin authorizes small cabinet changes
Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a limited cabinet reshuffle proposed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, aimed at strengthening sources of growth amid worsening financial conditions, increased taxes, and rising interest rates. Among the notable changes, Anton Siluanov has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister while continuing his role as Finance Minister since 2011. Additionally, Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin will assume the position of Deputy Prime Minister to oversee the development of the transport sector, with a leadership change at the Ministry of Transport following the replacement of Dmitry Yadrov. These adjustments must be approved by Parliament.
