Sudan army intercepts two drones near Khartoum

This morning, the Sudanese Army's defenses intercepted two suicide drones targeting the area around Khartoum International Airport in the eastern part of the capital, neither of which hit their targets. Shrapnel from the interception resulted in the death of one person inside a civilian building. The attack occurred near vital and military facilities amidst a surge in drone attacks amid the ongoing conflict since April 2023 between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has led to thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions. Drones continue to be used in military operations, with attacks expanding into areas far from the front lines.
