Mainland criticizes Taiwan for obstructing Strait exchanges

China criticized the Taiwan authorities for hindering cross-strait exchanges and refusing to participate in commemorative events marking the birthday of Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the Kuomintang and leader of the Chinese revolution. These remarks come in the context of China's reaffirmation that Taiwan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory, and that attempts by Taiwanese authorities to divide the country only increase tensions and undermine national unity. China also pointed out that Taiwan's refusal to engage in exchanges reflects malicious intentions and poses a threat to peace and stability in the region.
