Russian fishing vessels near Britain believed to be espionage
A British investigation has revealed that Russian fishing vessels are behaving in a suspicious manner near submarine communication cables that connect Britain with Europe and the United States. Over four and a half years, more than 500 movements have been observed, including approaching and long-distance maneuvers over the cables. Data indicates that some ships are monitoring the precise locations of these cables, which could be exploited for future sabotage operations, although there is no conclusive evidence of espionage missions being carried out. NATO is monitoring the activity of Russian ships, and experts express concerns that these movements could threaten critical communication infrastructure. Since the cables are a vital artery for communications and the British economy, there is an increased risk of them being targeted in the event of a conflict with Russia.
