Palestine Under Ottoman Rule Part Two

In an episode of the Archive Podcast, historian Abdullah Al-Safarini discusses the topic of land ownership in Palestine during the Ottoman era, focusing on the concept of "tabu" as a document recording land ownership, villages, names, and boundaries. The conversation explores how land was registered in the name of its owners and how the "tabu" shifted from an administrative record to a point of dispute over territory and memory, highlighting that the core content of the Ottoman document was centered on ownership and the rights of the proprietors.
