Sweida unrest: who's fueling tension

The Sweida province in southern Syria is experiencing a period of escalation and tension amid increasing attacks and mobilization efforts. Israeli aircraft are conducting flights overhead and targeting security areas with drone strikes. Simultaneously, there are provocations from Israeli parties and political threats linked to upcoming elections. The province is also witnessing attempts by forces aligned with Hikmat al-Hariri to exploit the Druze issue in the Israeli electoral conflict, aiming to regain popular support after security conditions have deteriorated. Damascus and local forces accuse external and Israeli actors of intervening to hinder dialogue efforts and maintain instability. There are warnings about the escalation of media campaigns and rumors backed by internal and external entities, aimed at destabilizing the situation and obstructing political solutions.
