Evening – Parties form alliances to oversee ballot boxes
The legislative elections in Algeria, scheduled for July 2, 2026, have begun amid efforts to ensure that polling stations are monitored by observers. Several parties have formed alliances and joint organizations to oversee the voting process, with the combined efforts of the New Dawn Party, the Workers' Party, the Socialist Forces Front, the National Rally for Democracy, and the National Liberation Front working together to monitor 1,451 municipalities both inside and outside the country. The Algerian community abroad also showed a strong turnout to vote, whether in Tunisia and Egypt or at the voting offices in Marseille, thereby strengthening parliamentary representation which increased to 12 seats.
