The Ministry of Environment has confirmed that the recent fires have significantly impacted biodiversity, causing damage to vegetation cover and resulting in the loss of many animal and plant species, reflecting the extent of the ecological impact. The environmental directorates in the affected states have begun conducting field assessments in coordination with forest authorities to evaluate the environmental and wildlife damage. The ministry is also working on developing programs to rehabilitate the affected areas and restore ecological balance, while enhancing preventive measures and raising awareness to reduce the risk of forest fires and protect natural resources.
