President Abdelmadjid Tebboune reiterated his commitment to gradually increasing wages and retirement pensions in order to maintain economic stability and reduce inflation. He announced plans for new increases in the guaranteed minimum national wage, after two previous increases, emphasizing the importance of not expanding the monetary supply, which could lead to inflation. He also affirmed that social measures, such as exempting small wages from taxes, raising wages, and revising retirement pensions, will continue and improve as the economic performance improves. This will be achieved through developing domestic production and reducing imports to boost government revenues and provide direct benefits to citizens.
