Spain reports 49,000 migrants from Morocco

The Spanish city of Ceuta has experienced its largest wave of irregular migration in recent years, with approximately 49,000 migrants crossing from Morocco in the past 24 hours. This unprecedented influx is the result of increased attempts to cross by sea and through border areas, leading to a deterioration of humanitarian and social conditions in the city, which has declared a state of emergency and is facing overcrowding in reception centers. Melilla has also witnessed extensive crossings, as Spanish authorities have strengthened security measures to cope with the pressure caused by the continued flow of migrants.
