Algeria Reaffirms Principles Toward Africa
Algeria's chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Security Council during August reflects its strong commitment to supporting peace and stability across the continent. Its programs have focused on assessing the security situation, monitoring crises such as conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Sahel region, as well as organizing a field mission to bolster peace efforts. The presidency also aims to enhance coordination among various African Union institutions and to implement 12 key activities, including discussions on terrorism and cooperation with AU bodies, with the goal of improving the council's capabilities and responses to increasing security challenges.
