Spanish Civil Guard Finds Moroccan Agents in Ceuta
Spanish security sources reveal that elements from Moroccan intelligence agencies were present amid the unprecedented wave of mass migration to the city of Ceuta, with the aim of gathering intelligence about Spanish security forces and their tactics during the crisis. This phenomenon is considered a recurring pattern during previous crises in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, where the Moroccan regime has used illegal migration as a means to exert political and security pressure on Spain. Reports document that Moroccan intelligence operatives were monitored through surveillance systems during the migrant flows. The presence of these Moroccan agents among the migrants raises questions about the role played by Moroccan authorities, as these operations appear to be an attempt to exploit the crisis for intelligence purposes. This increases security concerns within Spain and Europe about the use of migrants as tools in political conflicts and intelligence rivalries.
