Alcaraz to miss Cincinnati Open

Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning champion of last year's Cincinnati Open, is suffering from a persistent wrist injury that will prevent him from participating in this year's tournament, scheduled from August 13 to 23. Alcaraz, ranked second in the world, was set to compete in the Masters after being sidelined since April due to an injury that prevented him from fully recovering from a hand injury. This injury also kept him from defending his titles at the French Open and Wimbledon. The tournament director stated that Alcaraz is making every effort to return to competition as soon as possible.
