Chile Supports Sahrawi Self-Determination

The Chilean Association for Friendship with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic affirms its full support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence. It condemns the Moroccan occupation's attempts to whitewash its occupation of Western Sahara and to exploit human rights issues to serve its colonial interests. The association also denounced efforts to promote settlement proposals during meetings held in the Chilean capital, considering them violations that contradict international legitimacy. It pointed out that the right to self-determination is enshrined in international law and called for the release of Sahrawi detainees and for measures to address Moroccan abuses.
