Mosaic shines at Palace of the Kings
The visual artist Amira Kaouash conducted a live mosaic art workshop at Al Rayes Palace as part of the "Our Summer is Creative" festival. The workshop focused on utilizing natural materials and local stones due to a shortage of glass materials, which added a finer artistic value and deeper expressive dimensions to the works. Kaouash explained that the stages of the process involve precise challenges related to design, stone selection, and accurate cutting, but thanks to her experience, she was able to solve problems creatively. The goal of the workshop is to spark curiosity among children and young people about the art of mosaics, introduce them to the importance of using ancient natural materials, and strengthen the connection between the community and its artistic heritage. Emphasis was also placed on the significance of mural arts in promoting peace and reassurance.
