The German Embassy in Algeria plans to establish a permanent statue of the Berlin symbol "Badi Bär" at its new headquarters in Algeria, through a competition among prominent Algerian visual artists. The project aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries through an artwork that reflects friendship, cooperation, and the historical and human connection, while emphasizing cultural diversity and the values of dialogue and mutual respect. Participants are required to submit designs that express the bonds between Algeria and Germany, taking into account artistic and technical aspects. The statue is to be completed and delivered within three months after the project is awarded. This initiative presents an opportunity to showcase how art can serve as a bridge between cultures and revive the symbolism of Berlin in a way that reflects Algerian-German friendship.
