ClickLock Mac malware locks apps until consent
A new Mac malware called ClickLock is designed to steal personal information by tricking users into executing malicious commands via fake verification pages. The attack begins with a fake error message prompting users to paste a command into Terminal, which downloads malware in the background and may display a false password prompt, pressuring users to reveal their login credentials. The malware can then access saved passwords, browser data, cryptocurrency wallets, and install a persistent backdoor for remote access, remaining hidden even after initial modules are removed. Users are advised to avoid executing unknown commands, shut down immediately if suspicious activity occurs, and update security protections to prevent infection.
