Russia accuses Durov of aiding terrorism
Russia’s security agency announced charges against Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, accusing him of aiding terrorism and placing him on an international wanted list. The charges stem from allegations that Telegram failed to remove channels and bots used by Ukrainian intelligence and extremist groups to coordinate attacks and sabotage in Russia. Durov previously criticized Russian restrictions on Telegram and argued that authorities aim to suppress free speech and privacy.
