Judge permits ending Ethiopian protections
A federal judge has approved ending deportation protections for about 5,000 Ethiopians living in the US under Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The ruling allows the Trump and Biden administrations to proceed with the termination, which was previously blocked by the court, despite ongoing legal challenges. The decision affects Ethiopians granted relief due to ongoing conflict in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, with protections extended temporarily but now set to expire.
