California sheriff restricts ICE training access

San Diego County Sheriff Kelly Martinez announced that ICE will no longer be permitted to use county facilities for training or gun qualifications due to community concerns over their conduct. However, authorities will continue allowing CBP access to the Otay Range, citing the importance of border operations and potential impacts on trade and traffic. The decision follows county efforts to terminate lease agreements with both agencies, citing broader safety and trust considerations.
