Nepal avalanche causes deaths and disappearances
A glacier-related avalanche triggered severe flash floods in Nepal, causing at least eight deaths and widespread destruction. Hundreds of tourists and residents remain missing after the flooding of rivers, including the Bhotekoshi and Lhende Khola, which damaged villages, infrastructure, and hydropower projects. Climate experts attribute the flooding to accelerated glacier melting in the Himalayas due to global warming.
