Long Island families sue over Maine pontoon accident
A wrongful-death lawsuit has been filed in Maine against the manufacturer of a 2024 Sea-Doo pontoon boat, nearly a year after it capsized on Flagstaff Lake, resulting in three fatalities. The families allege the boat’s design was defective, causing it to overturn shortly after leaving the dock, with none of the passengers wearing life jackets. The lawsuit claims the boat was prone to capsizing due to flaws in its design, which had previously been subject to a safety recall.
