High schooler's fatal jump prompts LAPD investigation
A student at Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park died after falling from a fourth-floor balcony following a classroom fight and hallway chase. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing footage to determine if the incident involved foul play, with a potential arrest of a peer who punched the victim prior to the fall. The school offered support to students afterward, and family members described the teen as a caring, quiet boy who had been bullied.
