Surrogacy Parents Arrested for Abuse
Guojon Xuan and Sylvia Zhang, who are the biological parents of over 20 children mostly born via surrogates, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit child abuse. The authorities found the children, mostly between ages 1 and 3, living under strict conditions in their Arcadia mansion, watched by six live-in nannies. An investigation was prompted after a child sustained a serious head injury, with some caregivers fleeing the country before arrest.
