Trump admin seeks Russia's response on possible plague death
The US is investigating the death of a Russian laboratory worker at the Irkutsk Research Anti-Plague Institute, with limited information from Russian authorities raising concerns over potential biological risks. Officials remain uncertain whether the individual contracted pneumonic plague or another infectious disease, as Russia's response includes quarantining the institute and limited transparency hampers assessment. US agencies and international partners are closely monitoring the situation while awaiting more details to determine possible health threats.
